Aafco
AAFCO is an acronym for the Association of American Feed Control Officials. This organization sets the standsards for pet foods.Dog foods labeled as "complete and balanced" must meet standards established by the AAFCO either by meeting a nutrient profile or by passing a feeding trial.
As of 1995 the standard changed and now there are two separate nutrient profiles for dogs - one for growth (puppies) and one for adult maintenance. Flint River meets and exceeds both with its Adult and puppy kibble.
I have the current AAFCO Food and Nutrition Guide listed.
